To be honest the possession mark vanitas got from the blue moon vampire is useless as hell. All it does is allows him to use the book of vanitas but without the book he can't do much. Plus vanitas is also an enhance human like the paladins etc yet he can't do jack shit physically. That doctor that created enhanced humans was praising vanitas saying he was his prized possessions so I was expecting he'd have some sort of enhanced ability but the guy has nothing except for the book and the few weapons he has which has been shown to be completely useless in a fight against vampires. Plus the red moon vampire possession mark he got from jeane is useless as well eventhough it was suppose to give him some of Jeanes abilities since that's what possession marks are suppose to do for humans. So far even in the manga the possession marks are nothing but fancy looking tattoos eventhough they're suppose to give humans abilities of vampires.
